Troodos Center of Environmental Information

The Troodos Center of Environmental Information is the first of its kind in Cyprus and it is located 200 meters west of the Troodos Square where a paved path connects them.

The operation of the Troodos Center of Environmental Information was launched in 2002 in order to highlight and promote the natural beauty of the homonymous region and to inform about environmental issues in beautiful space of relaxation and education. The premises include a reception hall with a small shop that sells souvenirs, the exhibit hall and a projection room. Outside the building, erected by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation and granted by the Department of Forests, there is a botanical and geological trail.

In the reception hall, guests can get the necessary information from brochures or employees, buy books or souvenirs and see the beautiful model of the park. In the projection room, visitors can watch a 10 minute film about Cyprus and its geology, flora and fauna.

In the exhibit hall, which is the most important, the public has the opportunity to see up close several stuffed animals and birds with information signs, habitat reconstructions, fossils, a collection of butterflies, wood samples, chronological and other information, as well as a rich photo gallery.

The botanical and geological trail has a length of 250 meters and covers a route where one can see various plants found in the Park, samples of the main rocks forming the Troodos Ophiolite Complex and artificial nests that have been set up the employees.

In the area of the Troodos Center of Environmental Information, which has an entrance fee, there is free parking, restaurant, playground, tennis courts and restrooms, and all areas are accessible to disabled guests.
