Toxevtra Beach
Toxevtra Beach is the southern bay of the coastline of Lara in Cyprus, and is located approximately 25 kilometers north of Paphos and 13 km northwest of Peyia.
At the location of the famous cafe Lara, with an incredible view of the beautiful bay, the beach Toxevtra delineates the border of the Akamas peninsula. To the west of it starts the famous gorge Avakas and the whole area includes three state forests (the forest of Akamas, Pyknis forest and Meletis Forest).
Being the southwestern coastline of Akamas, the Toxevtra beach reaches 10 km in length and has small pebbles, while the sea because of the northwest winds quite often has rough waves.
Finally, the beach Toxevtra along with more famous beach Lara, are important nesting habitats of the sea turtles of the island that are protected by the relevant services (Specially Protected Areas of the Barcelona Convention and the Network of Biogenetic Reserves of the Council of Europe), according to which it is expressly forbidden to hunt or have any tourism development on these two beaches.
