Town Hall of Limassol

Town Hall of Limassol is one of the beautiful cultural attractions in the center of the homonymous city and is located on Archbishop Kyprianou Street.

An edifice designed by the German-Jewish architect Benjamin Gunsburg, the Town Hall of Limassol is a building of the Second World War with carved stonework and with details influenced by European rhythms.

The marble vestibule was made in Greece, while inside it there is a relief decoration with gypsum details and marble floors. The reception hall makes references to the Doric-style columns of the Royal Tombs in Paphos.

To the east of the Town Hall of Limassol, along the Themidos Street, are the old colonial courts (today’s TEPAK Library), built in 1911 according to the plans of the British W. Williams, an employee of the Colonial Department of Public Works.
