Skarfou Bridge
One of the many natural attractions of Cyprus is the Skarfou bridge which is located near the Evretou dam and Simou village of Paphos province, just above the Stavros Psokas river.
This widely known and one of the oldest in Cyprus bridge is made of stones from the river and has an inscription in stone from 1618, although some argue that it is much older.
It was built in order to fulfill the transport and trade needs of the locals like the transportation of gold and copper to the market of Paphos and from there to other countries. It is a single arch structure with a span of 8.50 meters and a width of 2.75 meters. Like all the bridges of the area the entrances of the bridge are wide enough in order to have space for two coaches for the case they were met at the bridge.
Skarfou bridge attracts many nature lovers who arrive in the area every year.
