Pissouri Beach
You will find Pissouri Beach nearly 40 km west of Limassol, in the homonymous province of Cyprus (about midway between Limassol and Paphos), near the tourist resort of the homonymous village.
At the southern end of the hill, where the old settlement of Pissouri is located, about 3 km from there you will find a large bay, whose coastline includes the Pissouri beach. This particular coast until recently was remote and deserted, but today it has become a popular tourist resort.
The bay of Pissouri with the steep hills that emerge from the water and are protected by the slopes of Cape Asprorotsos (meaning white rock) and to the east of the wild hills of Mafrorotsou, extends all the way to the west (i.e. to Paphos) and its sea has been awarded with the Blue Flag. Pissouri beach is nearly 2 km long and has sand and pebbles. This beach is the favorite of those who love summer water sports – nevertheless, at the end of the beach there are some small, sandy and quiet coves.
Most of Pissouri beach has been planted with tropical trees. Several hiking trails (some of which are accessible to the disabled) cross the beach, offering the visitor unique sights, such as those of the wild birds in the area, including many falcons. Also, the whole of this particular beach is a breeding area for sea turtles.
On Pissouri beach you will find toilets, showers, sun loungers, umbrellas, water sports facilities and a beach volley court. From April to October there are lifeguards on duty and first aid services, while the surrounding area is filled with restaurants, cafes, hotels and shops that operate throughout the year.
Access to Pissouri beach is easy by any means of transportation, and you will find ample free parking spaces.
