Paramali
Paramali village is located about 26 km from Limassol in the homonymous province of Cyprus, and is 40 km from Paphos, over 90 km from Larnaca and 100 km from Nicosia and is also located within the British base of Akrotiri Limassol.
Prior to the Turkish invasion, the village Paramali was predominantly inhabited by Turkish Cypriots, where many Greek Cypriots retained their property and cultivate their fields. In 1974 the village was deserted permanently and those who remained in the area moved to the British bases or found shelter in occupied Kalopsida. So, today’s community (approximately 150 residents) occupies a much smaller area than the original settlement, which is now used for military exercises by the British Army. It is said that there also served Prince William of England.
The famous shores of Paramali, such as the homonymous beach and the beach Avdimou do not resemble in any way the dark aspects of the history of the settlement, while a beautiful natural phenomenon – the coupling of three rivers of the island – contribute to a beautiful getaway for all visitors of the region.
