Pano Akurdalia

Pano Akurdalia is located about 28 kilometers north of Paphos in the homonymous province of Cyprus, 90 kilometers northwest of Limassol and almost 170 kilometers from Nicosia.

With a view of the valley of Polis Chrysochous, as well as of the foothills of Troodos, Pano Akurdalia, or else Akurdalia, have significant historical value, as the place where the rigena (queen) came together with the legendary Digenis. Today, the community counts about 40 permanent residents, and there you can visit the old church of Panagia Chryseleousa, or walk along the “wine road”, called “Laona – Akamas”, which crosses through the settlement. In the wider area there are several renovated houses, homes of residents of Nicosia and Paphos, which come to Pano Akurdalia for the summers. The visitor can also spend the night in one of the many agrotouristic lodgings. Finally, there is a small laboratory of biological productions in the settlement.

Pano Akurdalia is bordered by many villages in the mountainous region of Paphos, such as the settlement of Kato Akourdalia, Kritou Terra, Kathikas, and Drousia.
