Mosfili

Mosfili is situated about 85 kilometers west of Nicosia in the homonymous province of Cyprus, and is about 125 kilometers away from Larnaca (via the checkpoint), 120 kilometers from Limassol and 55 kilometers northeast of Paphos.

With only 20 permanent residents, the village of Mosfili, also known as Mosfileri, “guards” the border of the area of Tillyria. From the Arab raids to the bombing with Napalm bombs during the bloody events of 1964 and after the Turkish invasion of 1974, it seems that the locals love their place and are staying here for good. In a place of wild beauty and painful history for the island, the community is standing in the middle of the only occupied area that is enclosed by the territory of the Republic of Cyprus (to the east is the village of Kokkinon).

In Mosfili you can visit the monument of the Fallen and the Missing, the small church of Agios Georgios, and there is also a cafe. Finally, the settlement is bordered by Pigainia of Nicosia, from which it is administered, and also the bordering Agios Theodoros Tyllyrias.
