Mitsero
Mitsero is a village in the Nicosia province, situated about 30 kilometers southwest of the capital of Cyprus, 60 kilometers from Limassol and Larnaca and 130 kilometers from Paphos.
Built at an average altitude of 390 meters, Mitsero is famous for its soil (red soil, white soil and mixed soils), while it is also rich in minerals (gold, copper, pyrite). Thus, since 1952, the mines began to function and the permanent population of the village increased.
Although the wider area does not have many fertile fields, it has lush vegetation and fauna that makes for abundant hunting. Nowadays, in the settlement of Mitsero are cultivated, to a limited extent, barley, wheat, sunflowers, citrus fruits, various fruit trees, few vegetables and legumes, as well as some greenhouses for the systematic cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants by a natural cosmetics factory. Livestock farming in the village is limited to one farm with cows and three small flocks of sheep and goats.
There, the visitor can see the church of Panagia Lambadiotissa, and visit its holy source flowing abundantly in the small cave near Mitsero.
