Millomeri Waterfalls
The Millomeri waterfall is one of the most beautiful natural attractions not only of Limassol province but of whole Cyprus.
Hidden in the mountain at an altitude of 490 meters, between golden oaks, pines and plane trees, in a magnificent wet landscape from the Krios river, the Millomeri waterfall in the village Pano Platres is the tallest of the island at 15 meters. On the rocky slopes, the visitor will also find plants like cypress, endemic asperoula, helichrysum and many more, while the rocks of the area mainly consist of diabase.
The name probably comes from the word ‘millos’ which in the Cypriot dialect means wet and the word ‘meros’ which in Greek means region.
A previously relatively unknown destination because of the inaccessibility of the whole region, the Millomeri waterfall has become an attraction in recent years for nature lovers, because of some works and the new dirt road that facilitated access to it. The dirt road starts at some point of the main road Platron – Limassol, about 1 kilometer after Psilo Dentro, and ends about 5 minutes before walking to the beautiful spot.
For those who enjoy hiking there is the footpath of Millomeri waterfall between Panagia Faneromeni of Pano Platres and the center of the village with a length of 1.2 kilometers and estimated duration of hiking 30 minutes.
