Megali Ammos tou Kampouri
Megali Ammos tou Kampouri beach is located approximately 4 km away from the center of Ayia Napa in Famagusta and between the sea caves of Kavo Greco and Kermia Beach.
On the eastern coast of Cyprus you will find a quiet place to swim, Megali Ammos tou Kampouri, which is a sheltered bay with golden sand. It is 100 meters long and about 25 meters wide and most tourists walk past it on their way to the cape Kavo Greco. The shallow waters of the beach have been awarded with the Blue Flag, and even though in some places the sea is quite rocky, it is nevertheless ideal for underwater explorations and diving in the deep waters (especially during the hours of low tide when a great expanse of rocky seabed with various shellfish is revealed). Also, the sea is exposed to southern winds, and as a result in the afternoon hours it is quite wavy.
At Megali Ammos tou Kampouri beach you will find basic services, such as a lifeguard and a few umbrellas and sun beds, although many swimmers find shade at the small picnic area of the beach, under a large tree, while nearby there is also a small canteen. Furthermore, in the general area there are many options for accommodation and dining spaces.
Once this beach was the hidden secret of the locals, but now it is very popular with those who want to enjoy the natural beauty of the island, but at the same time do not want to experience its more lively side. At the left end of the Megali Ammos tou Kampouri, and by following the coastal path, you will find several exotic inlets where you can enjoy the sea away from the crowds.
Access to Megali Ammos tou Kampouri is easy on foot or by car. The visitor can reach it by following the Nature trail that connects Ayia Napa with Kermia beach or, for a quicker access, through the avenue Kyrou Nerou.
