Mazotos Beach

The very popular among locals beach Mazotos can be found on the sea front of the homonymous village on Cyprus, in the region of Larnaca, while it is located about 20 kilometers west of the capital, and just over 50 km from both Limassol and Nicosia.

The beach Mazotos, with its characteristically large coastline, has a length of up to seven kilometers and is divided into several beaches, like the Softades beach in the west, and Bouzi beach to the east. The beach got its name from the river that flows into the sea a few hundred meters away the beach.

Along its length, the Mazotos beach is covered by a mixture of sand and pebbles, and it is worth mentioning that the sea here, even though it is exposed to the winds throughout the year, is considered among the cleanest in the whole island of Aphrodite, as demonstrated by official measurements.

Mazotos beach is partly organized (2-3 snack bars), and you will find showers, public toilets and a parking area. On the other hand, for the lovers of water sports there are kite surfing centers.

Finally, Mazotos beach appeals to those seeking quiet holiday days. It may not offer lifeguard services, but this does not prevent the local families to choose it in the summer months in order to enjoy the sea, and to walk along the beach, in the woods of palm trees on the edge of the sea.
