Louma Beach

Louma beach or Golden Coast is situated about 7 km north of Protaras and near the main avenue of the tourist area of Pernera in the Famagusta region in Cyprus.

Next to the second fishing port in Paralimni and beside the church of Agios Nicholas lies the largest sandy beach of the region (over 300 meters long) – Louma beach – which seems to have gotten its name from the ancient word “louomenos (bather)” and its history begins with the closing of the old port on the Megali Pernera beach, which was subsequently moved to Louma.

Louma beach is a large bay, divided into two beaches by a few rocks situated in its middle. The shallow waters of Louma beach are crystal clear and have the Blue Flag accreditation, hence it is a favorite summer choice for families and locals.

On the golden sand of Louma Beach you will find sun loungers, umbrellas, toilets, a volleyball net, and free Wi-Fi, as well as a lifeguard during the summer months. The coast is partly accessible for disabled people and on it the visitor can enjoy various water sports, as well as any other service (up to an outdoor spa) in the wider area, which is connected to the beach by a hiking trail. Finally, behind the small port, there is a large parking area available, as well as additional port services.
