Lasa

Lasa is a small village in the province of Paphos in Cyprus and it is situated 27 kilometers  northeast of the homonymous city, 82 kilometers northwest of Limassol and 151 kilometers southwest of Nicosia.

A small picturesque community built at an altitude of 600 meters, from where the settlement got its name, the mountainous Lasa with the approximately 100 inhabitants, is neighboring with the settlements of Drinia, Drimou, Fiti and Milia. Within the alleys of the settlement, the visitor will see some modern buildings and several stone-built traditional houses, many of which are ruined, while others have been renovated. With a severely decreased population in relation to the past due to urbanisation, the community has been progressively abandoned over the years, with younger people moving to the big urban centers of Cyprus. The tranquility that it provides along with the beautiful natural landscape of the surrounding area make Lasa an attractive destination for those seeking relaxation away from the bustling cities of the island.

Here, the natural attractions are the ones that monopolize the interest of the visitor, such as the Nature Trail, the community park and the lush landscape of Romanos with the centuries-old oak which every year is visited by quite a few locals and tourists. The religious points of interest in the area are the church of Ypapanti, the chapel of Agios Prodromos and the chapel of Agios Ermolaos. For those who want to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside, a handsome family-run guesthouse and a coffee shop can be found in Lasa.
