Konnos Beach
Konnos beach can be found southeast of Protaras and is approximately 10 kilometers from Ayia Napa in the Famagusta district of Cyprus.
The name of the beach comes from the homonymous rock in the region. As the last organized beach, which defines the border between Ayia Napa and Protaras, Konnos beach is considered one of the most idyllic beaches on the island. Located on the eastern part of Cape Cavo Greco, it is surrounded by steep slopes, which result in a rocky bay. The bay is surrounded by pine trees, hidding the golden sandy beach with the shallow turquoise waters. The beach, which is 200 meters long and 35 meters wide, consists of two separate small coves that are separated with a small rocky headland. Although the beach has been awarded with the Blue Flag, its seabed is rocky, and the waters can sometimes turn cloudy due to the currents. As it is protected from the winds, during summer Konnos beach is a popular anchorage for yachts.
The one unknown shore of Seferis (the shore is allegedly described in a poem by the famous Greek poet Seferis) has now been completely developed into an organized beach. So on Konnos beach you will find facilities for water sports of all kinds, from water ski and oxoon to kayaking, a café-restaurant with a panoramic view of the coast, while in the surrounding area there is a large hotel complex. Moreover, lifeguard services with first aid equipment are available from 10:00 until 18:00 during the summer months.
Finally, Konnos beach is easily accessible by all means of transportation, and there are also car parking spaces available for the disabled. Beginning from this coast every visitor can walk either to the cave of the Cyclops (north of the beach) or take the nature trail of Kyprida Aphrodite, which leads back to Cape Cavo Greco.
