Grecian Beach
Grecian Beach is about 7 km away from the center of Protaras and almost 12 kilometers from Ayia Napa in the Famagusta region of Cyprus.
In the wider region of the beach Grecian carved tombs have been discovered, revealing that there once stood an earlier settlement. But the history of the name of Kalamies beach or Althea according to others, speaks of either the existence of a pagan temple or refers to strong men inhabiting the area, as is indicating by the place’s name (Grecian stands for Greek men).
As the smallest organized beach in the area, the sandy beach Grecian is considered one of the quieter options for swimming since it is somewhat isolated, with rocky surroundings to keep it hidden from view, and is especially loved by families with children because of its shallow waters.
The beach Grecian is situated beneath a widely known restaurant and can be found between the beaches of Louma and Megali Pernera. It has only a few sun loungers and umbrellas, and there is parking available at the entrance to the coast. The visitor of course, can find whatever else may be needed in the hotel which is within walking distance from the beach.
