Faros Beach
Faros Beach is situated about 3 km away from Paphos in the homonymous province of Cyprus.
Being the first of a series of beaches, it is located to the northwest of the Castle of Paphos, and just behind the Ancient Odeon of Paphos. The Faros beach, of course, got its name from the ‘guardian of the ships’ located there (faros in Greek stands for lighthouse).
With a length of approximately 300 meters and 40 meters wide, the sandy Faros beach has been awarded with the Blue Flag for its clean rocky waters. Here the bather can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, while in the summer the area has lifeguards on duty. Moreover on the beach, the visitor will find a beach volley court and a canteen providing free Wi-Fi. There are also limited services for the disabled.
The area around the beach Faros offers many accommodation and dining options, and it is also ideal for nature lovers, as in the wild bays of the coastline nestle and feed many birds.
Finally, access to the Faros beach is easy, and at the same time it is possible to reach it on foot by the almost 2 km long trail that begins from the tourist center of Paphos.
