Eptagonia
Eptagonia is a village in the district of Limassol in Cyprus and is located about 35 km northeast of Limassol, 50 km from Larnaca, 70 km from Nicosia and 100 km from Paphos.
Today in Eptagonia live about 300 permanent residents. A walk through the village exudes an aroma of olden times, when the village women embroidered – a lacy type of embroidery, and men had many plows and oxen yokes.
As one of the largest villages in the region, Eptagonia has many chapels, such as Agios Photios (St. Photios) with the beautiful icons of the Virgin and the chapel of Christou (Jesus Christ) and the Archangel Michael, a church of the 17th century. But the jewel of the village is the church of Agia Marina (St. Marina), and nearby you will also find the Panagia tou Kampou (Virgin Mary of Campos).
Starting from Eptagonia one can enjoy the outdoors by hiking through nature and following an unknown to many Nature trail. There, visitors can find a restaurant, where one can taste traditional bread. For accommodation the traveler can visit the nearby settlement Sykopetra. Finally, the settlement has the regional Elementary School Iamatiki, which offers its services to the families of the surrounding villages.
