Center of Environmental Information of Episkopi Paphos

The Center of Environmental Information of Episkopi Paphos is located in the homonymous village, on the main road that connects the settlement to the city of Paphos.

A place in the old primary school of the village funded by the EU and Cypriot republic under the European Rural Development Programme 2007-2013, the Center of Environmental Information of Episkopi hoghlights and promotes the environmental importance of the valley of Ezousa and protects the ecological and cultural characteristics of the region.

In the screening room of the center, visitors can watch a 24 minutes film about the valley’s environment with all the important species of flora and fauna.

The center also consists of the reception and exhibit hall, which provides information on the geology using modern audiovisual, photographic material, touch screens and various collections. The center is equipped with a fully operational laboratory with microscope, stereoscopes and computers, which can be used by students and researchers in research or educational programs.

Outside the Center of Environmental Information of Episkopi Paphos there is a botanical garden with the most important plants of the area, organized in thematic sections (habitats, endemic, bulbs, rare species), and other typical plants of Cyprus and geological samples from the area. At the site there is also a shop with books, DVDs and various souvenirs.
