Castella Beach
Castella Beach is only 2 km south of the center of Larnaca in the homonymous province of Cyprus. To the north the beach is adjacent to the Mackenzie beach and to the west of the beach stretches the small fishermen’s port of the area, or else Psarolimano.
Castella Beach is situated in the famous Piale Pasa and behind the ice-cream parlors of the Makenzy area. The beach got its name from the Castle (Castelli) of Larnaca, which is located about 1 kilometer away.
It may be relatively smaller than the other shores of the province, with a length of almost 400 meters and 20 to 70 meters wide, but Castella beach is considered as one of the cleanest beaches. It has been awarded the Blue Flag and its fine gray sand has over the years gathered large numbers of “fans”, who often have the opportunity to take part in numerous musical and other events, while lying under their tropical parasols.
Castella beach offers all kinds of amenities, from toilets, changing rooms, and experienced lifeguards with the appropriate first aid equipment, to fish spas and sushi restaurants, overlooking the large bay of Larnaca. Very close to the coast you will find many fish taverns, café-bars and many places to stay.
Access to Castella beach is very easy, whether you choose to reach it on foot (about 20 minutes from Larnaca), by car or by public transport. Near the fishing port there is also a small car parking.
