Asklipeio of Pafos

The Asklipeio of Pafos is located in the vast area of ​​the Archaeological Park of Kato Paphos and is one of its most important monuments, to the south of the Ancient Conservatory of Paphos and to the southwest of the Agora.

A Sanctuary dedicated to the god Asclepius, which at the time was built in the center of the city, the Asklipeio of Pafos also served as a wellness center, a nursing home and a place of care for disabled people.

It was a large building complex with many spacious rooms and a square inner courtyard, and there are indications that the building had a second floor and a basement, probably used as a warehouse. It consists of a central arched area, with two side rooms to the north and south and a gallery with an entrance from the south. The entrance and courtyard of the hospital complex were decorated with granite columns.
