Asklipeio of Pafos
The Asklipeio of Pafos is located in the vast area of the Archaeological Park of Kato Paphos and is one of its most important monuments, to the south of the Ancient Conservatory of Paphos and to the southwest of the Agora.
A Sanctuary dedicated to the god Asclepius, which at the time was built in the center of the city, the Asklipeio of Pafos also served as a wellness center, a nursing home and a place of care for disabled people.
It was a large building complex with many spacious rooms and a square inner courtyard, and there are indications that the building had a second floor and a basement, probably used as a warehouse. It consists of a central arched area, with two side rooms to the north and south and a gallery with an entrance from the south. The entrance and courtyard of the hospital complex were decorated with granite columns.
