Agios Theodoros Tillyrias
Agios Theodoros Tillyrias is located about 85 km west of Nicosia in the homonymous province of Cyprus, 126 km from Larnaca, 120 km from Limassol (all the above distances regard routes through the checkpoint), and almost 60 km northeast of Paphos.
Situated in the northwestern part of the island, Agios Theodoros Tillyrias overlooks the gulf of Polis Chrysochous and the bay of Morphou. In the wider area is also situated the village of Kokkinon, which is the only occupied area that is enclosed by territories of the Republic of Cyprus.
Agios Theodoros Tillyrias is historically associated with the events that occurred in August 1964 when the Turkish air force raided and bombed the area and a large number of civilians were killed.
Lastly, this remote settlement of the island can be found between Mosfileri (Mosfili) and the Pigenion Lefkosias community, of which it is only a few kilometers away.
