Cave of St. Varnavas
In the Limassol province of Cyprus, just outside the village Vasas Koilaniou to the north there is the cave of St. Varnavas.
Before the cave of Apostolos Timonas there is the cave of St. Varnavas, the local patron saint who is said that became an ascetic there as his remains were found next to the cave where a small chapel is now standing.
The Holy skull of the Saint and part of his remains are not found in the cave St. Varnavas but they are kept in the main temple of the village, the Virgin of the Annunciation.
Two liturgies take place in the chapel every year, on Easter Tuesday and on June 11, which is the day of the saint, when his remains are transferred there to be worshipped by the faithful.
