Sculpture Park of Limassol
The Sculpture Park of Limassol is located around the city center of Limassol in the homonymous province of Cyprus.
Having transformed in recent years the most bustling with life spot of the second capital of the island into an open-air museum, various artistic symposia are organized throughout the year in the Sculpture Park of Limassol. Starting from the coastal backfilling of the city, conditions were created to turn the coastal zone into a place where visual creation could express itself.
So in the summer of 1999, it became an open art workshop among five sculptors and a number of audiences, who lived from up close the development and realization of the sculpture park of Limassol, which today adorns the busiest part of the city, giving it a special aesthetic appeal. The five sculptures were built of stone and metal so that they are in harmony with the landscape’s dynamics and the everyday life of the city’s people, and at the same time they are resistant to the “games” of the sea.
Next to the Sculpture Park of Limassol there are many playgrounds, a skate track, picnic venues and an environment generally ideal for endless walks by the city’s young and older residents.
