Pigenia Levkosias
Pigenia Levkosias is a small village in the Nicosia province southwest of Kato Pyrgos Tillyrias and about 5 km from it. It is situated 85 km from the homonymous capital of Cyprus, 140 km from Limassol, 120 km from Larnaca and 80 km from Paphos.
The name of the village of Pigenia Levkosias came from the fact that in the village there were 7 water sources (pigi is “source” in Greek, hence came Pigenia). The locals also believe that its name may be related to the Pigasos plant, that climbs over the roots of the trees.
In Pigenia Levkosias, there is the small church of Agia Marina, while many visitors make a stop in the settlement to taste the traditional cheese of the region.
