Paramytha
Paramytha is a village of the district of Limassol in Cyprus and is located 12 km northwest from Limassol, 78 km west of Larnaca, 79 km southwest of Nicosia and 77 km east of Paphos.
A village with about 500 inhabitants, built at an altitude of 220 meters, Paramytha is known for its restaurants that are visited during the weekend by locals and foreigners to enjoy the delicacies they offer. Its location at a short distance from Limassol in conjunction with the green scenery, make it a good choice for a short getaway from the busy center.
At the entrance of the village there is a large and impressive monument dedicated to the hero of EOKA Neoklis Panayiotou who fought for the liberation of the island from the British in 1955-59. The memorial includes the fighter’s statue on two rocks, a wall with white marble and black granite columns where the names of the fallen villages of the area are inscribed. In the community there is also a small renovated church of Agia Irini (St. Irene), a domed basilica with tiles.
