Mikri Pernera (Little Pernera)
Mikri Pernera beach is about 100 meters south from the coast of Megali Pernera and nearly 6 kilometers away from Protaras in the Famagusta district of Cyprus.
According to J. Goodwin the beach Mikri Pernera, also known as Polyxeni beach, acquired its name from the place name Pernera or Pernara signifying a place that is used as a passage.
The bay of Mikri Pernera with its shallow lake-like waters and situated as it is in front of a large hotel, gathers in the summertime quite a lot of families that want to enjoy the sea in peace. The beach is 60 meters long and about 20 meters wide and in the sand one can discern traces of sea shells.
While on the beach you will find only a few sun loungers and umbrellas, you will not lack in anything, since most shops are found along the wooden promenade that connects Mikri Pernera to Megali Pernera beach.
Finally, this promenade starts at the beach Mikri Pernera and continues along almost the entire seafront of Protaras, all the way to the popular Fig Tree beach.
