Katsarka Beach
Katsarka beach is situated immediately after Pernera beach and almost four kilometers west of Ayia Napa in the Famagusta region of Cyprus.
The beach Katsarka welcomes every visitor, who coming here is definitely looking for relaxing family holidays, with a small picturesque chapel. Covered with fine pebbles stretching in every direction, this beach is surrounded by numerous rocks, on the shore as well as in the sea. It is 250 meters long and 30 meters wide and its clean waters have been awarded with the Blue Flag. During the evening hours, when the wind blows from the south, the beach is exposed without any physical protection, and the otherwise calm sea can suddenly turn wild.
Katsarka beach may feel like a private beach, but it is well organized and there is even a sandy walkway for those who have difficulties with the rugged coastline. Since there is not a lot of vegetation surrounding the beach, many swimmers find shade under the big cliffs.
Moreover, lifeguard services and first aid equipment are available only during the summer season, and there is a public WC, as well as parking spaces. In the wider region of Katsarka beach there are also several accommodation facilities and a tavern, while the beach is situated about 5 minutes from the city center on foot.
Katsarka beach can be easily reached by car or on foot, as it is situated on the approximately 2.5 kilometers long path that connects the port of Ayia Napa with the beach Vathia Gonia.
