Glyfades Beach
Glyfades beach can be found about 9 km away from the center of Ayia Napa in the Famagusta region of Cyprus and it is located next to Nisia Beach.
To the southeast of Protaras is the perfect place for those who want to avoid the summer crowds, and prefer to enjoy the sea in peace. Glyfades beach, known by many other names, such as Mimosa or beach “Apostoli”, is a 30-meter sandy beach with blue waters. Its name, anyway, according to the residents is derived from the old phrase “where the wave licks the shore.” (glyfo means lick in Greek).
As a semi-organized beach, Glyfades offers only the necessities, a few sun loungers and umbrellas, although quite many people seek shade beneath the thickets of acacias. For anything
else you may need, there is a hotel very close by with a bar-cafeteria and access to toilets. On the other hand, Glyfades beach is a popular destination for the worldwide lovers of underwater explorations, as there is an organized diving center also in walking distance from the shore.
The beach Glyfades has limited parking spaces (at the hotel from where you can access the beach).
