Alykes Beach
Alykes beach can be found in front of the hotels Almyra and Annabelle in the center of the tourist area of Paphos (Kato Paphos) on the island of Cyprus, about 70 km from Limassol and 150 kilometers from Nicosia.
At the beginning of the beach Dimotika Loutra and well before the beginning of the beach Vrysoudia Paphos B, stretches the Alykes beach. It is situated beneath a large hotel of the region and the beach is small with a rocky bottom, “nestled” between two breakwaters, with a section of the beach stretching over an artificial platform. The beach probably got its name from the fact that in the past, in the area one could collect sea salt (Alykes in Greek means salt flats).
Alykes beach provides some facilities to its guests such as sunbeds and umbrellas, free Wi-Fi, water sports and lifeguards, and has also been awarded with the Blue Flag. Moreover near the coast, the visitors can find several restaurants and accommodation choices.
Access to Alykes beach is easy, as it is located adjacent to the central Avenue Poseidonas, and can be reached by car and public transportation, as well as on foot via the coastal path that starts from the Yeroskipou beach and ends at the Castle of Paphos, from which Alykes beach is just a few hundred meters away.
