Shipwreck MV ACHAIOS
Shipwreck MV ACHAIOS in the cape of Akrotiri Limassol is another popular diving destination with rich marine life in Cyprus.
Stranded on the seabed, 4 meters below sea level, the shipwreck MV ACHAIOS was property of the company Akarnania Μaritime Co, constructed in 1932 by A/S, when it got sunk in Limassol province after a strong storm. All the passengers of the ship, which was travelling from Yugoslavia to Jeddah of Saudi Arabia, were saved and well.
Nowadays the shipwreck MV ACHAIOS is an ideal location for divers who can explore the remains of the ship, which was loaded with timber, and admire the rich marine life of the region. The deepest point is 4 meters below sea level and it is considered to be ideal for spearfishing as this area is home to a plethora of fishes.
