Shipwreck Dimitrios II

Shipwreck Dimitrios II is an important sight for the visitors of Chlorakas in Paphos province of Cyprus.

Before it became a tourist attraction Dimitrios II was a Greek ship with a Honduran flag that transported wood from Chalkida to Limassol and Beirut and it run aground amid rough seas in Fourfouris region in 1998. The 9-member crew, five Greeks, two Syrians and two Pakistanis, were rescued by helicopter of the British bases, while efforts to tow the ship were unsuccessful.

Since moving or immersing was impossible, the shipwreck Dimitrios II was purified from mineral oils and toxic materials, and is now fully integrated into the surroundings, offering an idyllic sight for photography enthusiasts and more.
